Kentucky Notes and News

Kentucky here we come........and here we go!
Well it was a great weekend as far as the weather goes, what was thought to be a weekend of thunderstorms and rain turned out to be pretty nice. Unfortunately that is where the nice ended. Racing is racing but the team stayed focused and strong throughout the weekend. Brian was running really well in practice and the car was doing great. In the second practice session however Brian cut a tire somewhere on the track and going into turn 3 at 180mph the car spun around and hit the wall HARD! Brian was uninjured but the car was unable to be repaired. Forutnately for us we have good friends in the garage and the 81 team of McDonald Motorsports let Brian use their backup car for the race. The team busted their tails to get the car prepped and ready within time for inspection and qualifying but we did it. The group really showed team work and pulled together to get the job one.
Since Brian was locked into the race on owners points he took it easy on the qualifying run since it was not his car and started the race in the 41st position.
As the green flag dropped Brian did his best to race a car with a seat that just barely fit and a car that he had never driven before. Hanging on he drove his best but unfortunately without being able to inspect the car properly there were some brake problems that forced him to retire early. Sitting in the 35th position was where he would have to settle for the race.
A big thanks to all those who helped this weekend. We'll see everyone in Milwaukee!

The Shirts are Here!

OK everyone the official Brian Keselowski shirts are in and ready to ship out! We have a couple of deals for everyone so check in tomorrow and we'll have the links to how to buy them up and ready to go.
Also, later today we will have some pics posted to our ebay ads for some race fan items to buy. Part of Brians car from Nashville that took a hit on the wall will be up for sale. One of them is the right rear quarter panel with "Go Wings" on it and the other is the right side of the car with the # 26, 2XL and contingency stickers on it.

I'll try and have the pics up today of the car but here is the shirt.

Nashville # 2

So who says you have to have a perfect season anyway, right?
Althoug Nashville is actually a fun track for Brian, he likes going there because of his history with racing there, it has not always been a cooperative one for Brian but he has always managed to hang in there and do his best. Well this time unfortunately the track got the best of Brian and due to a mechanical failure the car shot straight to the wall and tore up the right side pretty good. Luckily Brian was unharmed but the Go Wings Dodge was unable to get back on the track. This happened around lap 145 or so, with only 7 or 8 cars on the lead lap Brian was setting up to get a pretty solid position in the top 20 or even top 15 with all the wrecks that were going on. Fortunately since he ran a strong race, as high as 11th I think, he was able to finish the race in 30th position which was enough to keep the car locked in the owners points and advance Brian another spot to sit in the 22nd position in the drivers points.
Luckily also the car was not the one that Brian is racing this coming weekend at Kentucky so we have some time to get it fixed.
Keep on Truckin' and at least on the good side the Wings shut out the Penguins 5-0 to take the series lead at 3-2. Go Wings!!!

Hockeytown Game 2

As a gesture to Brian for his support of the Detroit Red Wings Brian was invited to game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals in Detroit on Sunday. Driving all the way back from Dover on Saturday, Brian got what little sleep he could and headed out to the game.

A big thank you to the Illich family, Steve Viloletta and Rob Mattina for being such gracious hosts.

Wings are gonna take it in Game 5!

Dover Dover its over!

Well the trip to Dover was great! On his first attempt at the Monster Mile Brian qualified way down in the pack at 39th position and once again proved why we call him the bull by working his way up that pack, staying on the lead lap and finishing with a strong 16th place besting some of the top drivers in the series even beating KYLE BUSCH..........ok so Kyle was winning the race on the green white checker and cut a tire but still it looks good on paper right!
Everyone needs to give Brian a big props so far this year for doing the job he is doing. Dover is a tough track, all cement and it worked over some pretty good racers this past weekend but Brian stayed strong and kept it going.
Also sporting the Red Wings graphics helped I think!
As the Wings were unfortunately taken down by the Penguins last night they will go to game 5 on Saturday which means Brian for ONE MORE TIME will be sporting the Wings graphics on his car to show the dedication to the Wings!
Look for the car at Nashville this weekend, Go Brian and Go Wings!
